What is Kava?
Kava comes from the root of Piper methysticum, a plant native to the South Pacific and deeply embedded in Pacific Island life. Unlike many modern wellness ingredients, kava is not extracted, synthesised, or engineered.
It is simply grown, harvested, dried, and prepared organically. Much as it has been for generations. In Fiji, kava plants are typically grown for several years before harvest. Farmers wait until the root system has fully matured, allowing the plant to develop its full character and depth.
When the time is right, the root is carefully dug from the earth, cleaned, and separated. The thicker, denser roots are prized for their richness, while the lateral roots contribute balance and smoothness.
